William “Chip” Mackrides

 

WILLIAM “Chip” MACKRIDES

Mr. Mackrides is the principal of the law firm of Mackrides Associates and has been practicing law in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, for more than thirty two (32) years. He received his B.S. in Accounting from Villanova University and his J.D. from Loyola University of Law, New Orleans, Louisiana.

His practice concentrates in the areas of Real Estate, Estate Administration and Planning, and Business Law, although he has had experience in almost every area of the law. He is a trained and experienced Mediator and Arbitrator, having served as an arbitrator for over 30 years. He has lectured on various legal topics for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Delaware County Bar Association and the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce; and has taught night school Real Estate classes and appeared on television and radio as a presenter. He has served as Vice-Chairman of the Real Estate Practices Committee, a joint committee of the Delaware County Bar Association and Delaware Valley Association of Realtors. He has served on Bar/Press Relations, Pennsylvania Bar Association.

He is past Chairman of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section.

Additionally, he has the following present and past affiliations: Supervisor of Edgmont Township for 13 years; Past Chairman of the Edgmont Township Planning Commission; Past President, Director and Chairman, Rose Tree Media Education Foundation; Past President and Director of the Delaware County Children’s Camp Association, Inc.; Past Chairman of the Goodwill Industries Advisory Board and Director; Past President of the Trust Counselors Network, Inc.; Past Editor of the Delaware County Legal Journal; and Fundraising Liaison for many community non-profit organizations. Member-Penn State Brandywine Capital Campaign Committee. Mr. Mackrides has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Delaware County Bar Association for approximately ten (10) years, where he is currently the Treasurer and continues to serve on many committees, currently chairing the Judicial Selection/Retention.

He is the past Chancellor of the Delaware County Justinian Society, a member of the Board of Directors of the Delaware County Workforce Investment Board,  a member of the Advisory Board of Delaware County Services for the Aging (COSA), and has served as the Heart and Lung Act hearing officer for Delaware County. He is Solicitor and on the Board of the Hero Scholarship Fund and The Center for Resolutions, has served as an Assistant County Solicitor, handling matters regarding Tax Appeals, Inter-community Health Department, and Register of Wills, and currently is Solicitor to G. Michael Green, District Attorney of Delaware County. He was the 2007 President of the Delaware County Township Officials Association. He serves as Solicitor to Filitalia, Delaware County Chapter and as a Director on the Board of Filitalia International.

In October of 2002, Mr. Mackrides was featured in Main Line Today Magazine’s “Top Lawyers” issue as one of only eight Attorneys that were chosen by their peers from a survey of Attorneys in the Suburban Philadelphia area. He was highlighted as the choice in Estates and Trusts. In 2004, Mr. Mackrides was again chosen by his peers in the fields of both Real Estate and Estates in Main Line Today Magazine’s “Top Lawyers” issue 2004, and again in 2009 and 2010. In February of 2004, Mr. Mackrides was named a “Pennsylvania Super Lawyer” in the field of Real Estate by Philadelphia Magazine, an honor which he again received in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008,2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 .  In 2010 he received the Awesome Attorney award from Suburban Life Magazines reader poll in the fields of Real Estate, Estate Planning, and Tax Law and has been chosen again in 2011.

Additionally, Mr. Mackrides has an AV rating through Martindale-Hubbell which is the highest rating for practice skills and integrity, and maintains the highest 10 rating in AVVO.com. He is the Delaware County Bar Association’s 2002 recipient of the President’s Award and the 2008 recipient of the Lawyers Club “Man of the Year” Award.
